About Me

Having been raised in Northeast Ohio, my journey into the realm of cybersecurity commenced shortly after my graduation from Kent State University in 2012. My foray into this dynamic field began with enlistment in the Army as a Nodal Networks Administrator. Assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), I quickly immersed myself in the intricacies of networking fundamentals. By 2015, I had made a seamless transition to specializing in network security, a pivotal step that paved the way for my trajectory as a seasoned cybersecurity practitioner.

Throughout my tenure in the Army, I had the privilege of serving in diverse units, completing multiple combat deployments, assuming the role of a jumpmaster, and engaging with individuals from across the globe. These experiences, coupled with the challenges I encountered, fortified my resolve to continuously learn and adapt. They blessed me with profound insights into empathy, efficiency, and equilibrium; especially in high-stakes scenarios. This fostered a proactive stance in my approach to information security - a stance that values preparedness over reactive neglect, thereby safeguarding the sanctity of data in terms of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

After dedicating nearly a decade to the Army, I confronted the difficult decision of embarking on a civilian cybersecurity career. I departed from the military with the rank of Captain, marked by an honorable discharge. Today, I proudly serve as a Senior IT Security Administrator at a distinguished financial technology firm. My commitment to personal and professional growth has never stopped. Furthermore, I've taken the initiative to establish a non-profit entity named Zero Trust Solutions. Through this venture, my aim is to foster collaboration and resource-sharing among fellow professionals. I am currently enrolled in the MBA program at Boston University and am on course to graduate in Spring of 2025.

I hold a collection of industry certifications and have successfully completed multiple higher education programs. While these formal achievements are noteworthy, it's the real-world experiences that I hold closest to heart. Outside of my professional pursuits, I love playing music, honing my golfing skills, and maintaining a holistic approach to fitness.
